The lectures covered all sciences related to geothermal surface exploration, i.e. geology, geophysics, geochemistry and environmental science, together with an introduction to reservoir assessment and geothermal drilling, all demonstrated by numerous field examples. Three days were devoted to the status of geothermal exploration and development in the region and planning of geothermal projects, and finally, four days for geothermal project work. Further information on unugtp.is

Workshop: Workshop for Decision Makers on Geothermal Projects and their Management

The aim of the workshop was to make high-level decision makers from the respective energy ministries, national electric power companies, geological surveys, and finance ministries, better informed about the main phases of geothermal development and what kind of manpower,  equipment, and financing is needed for each phase.
