3. Valahnúksmöl boulder ridge
The Valahnúkamöl boulder ridge is 420 m long, 80 m wide and 10 m high, on the SW-coast of Reykjanes. It is located in a depression between Valahnúkur cliff, in the north, and a fault scrap in the Skálafell lava field, in the south. The boulder ridge is composed of 1-3 feet thick well rounded stones. Powerful storms producing high waves and surf are a well known phenomenon at the SW-coast of Reykjanes.
